The original site for Simply Divine Fibers and Spinning Karma has been closed, it just wasn’t working for what I need.  Most of my sales are local, either from customers who visit the studio or things I take along to demos or shows, but I will continue to post inventory here.

As I add in items and remove others, I’ll be changing the pages for easier navigation, there may be times the pages don’t look right or have nothing on them…. please bear with me while I work on this.

Some new things I’ll be adding per customer requests, fiber for dyeing, yarn for dyeing, dye mixes and other  supplies.

A preview of just of a few of the things I’ll be posting for sale….

Saturday I went to pick up some of my blends from the mill.  I am very happy with the way they turned out, will be taking photos of the fibers today and posting them along with sample skeins of each…

Check back soon…

Yes, I’m still here…. have been getting nudges from people asking when I’ll have new spinning fibers up.  It should be soon, just waiting for a call from the mill so I can go pick them up.   While I was busy with garden work, getting the new guild going and lots of other things, I put together large batches of fiber blends, all washed and/or dyed by me and send them off to a mill.   I’m still recovering from my shoulder problem and there was just too much fiber to process here.  I’m anxious to see if my blends turn out as nice as I think they will.  I’ll post them on here as soon as I get them.

I’ll also be updating all the pages as I take down my website.  With Karma gone (I posted about Karma on my Perennial Grace Blog), it is time to complete the change from Spinning Karma to Simply Divine Fibers.   Once I decide on a new host for a website, I’ll post it, but for now this is where I’ll be posting what I have to sell.

Garden chores and family events have kept me away from the pc and with little time for blog updates or studio work.  One thing I’ve been doing is setting up a studio/worshop outside of the house and moving some things from my regular studio to this space.  I’ll be posting photos of this in another post when I have some good photos to show.   This workspace has a large patio on the side  for outdoor lessons and projects, or just for setting chairs for chatting and spinning.  It has a smaller patio in the back that looks out to the herb garden.

I’ve been using the space mainly to teach other spinners how to work with a drum carder and some dyeing techniques.   Last week and this week I did some crock pot dyeing, using dyes leftover from hand painting projects.  Here are some photos of some of the projects using Tunis wool which had a lot of grease and vm (vegetable matter).

Done with just a couple of ounces to test the crockpots and set up.

A bit more peachy pink and yellow than in the photos.  A carded batt can be seen.

Then some 4 + ounces with socks or small projects in mind.

Mary N’s first attempt at crockpot dyeing.  I think she will be surprised when she sees this dry.  She used bright yellow, hot pink and chartreuse, but the colors obviously were a bit diluted and so soft colors resulted.

Here is one where I sprinkled in dry dye at random, will be interesting to see what this looks like carded.

I also dyed some sock yarn.  I sold some and added the others to the hand dyed yarn page, but here is a look at them.  Socks or other garments made with these will have a random or mosaic pattern rather than a striped or pooled pattern.

I’ve started using the drum carder again… Yay!  I just love the process of blending fibers and colors.  I’m working on a few things for myself first, but will occasionally have something available.  Today’s header is a preview of what I added to the Custom Blended Spinning Batts page.
